Houston, Texas – For its exemplary record of leadership, service and efforts to improve the school and community, the National Honor Society (NHS) awarded the Cypress Falls NHS chapter the Service Award of Excellence. NHS is supported by its parent organization, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), which also oversees the National Association of Student Councils.
“Receiving an NHS Chapter Pillar Award reflects the extraordinary commitment of students who are making a real difference in their school and community,” NASSP CEO Ronn Nozoe said. “The Cypress Falls NHS chapter show what's possible when young people come together to lead, serve and inspire others.”
“I am incredibly proud of the NHS members at Cypress Falls for their commitment to not only our school community, but the Cy Fair community. The students raised funds to support our Ruby Baskets Thanksgiving project along with the support of Rho Kappa and the students from the social studies department food drive. This is just one of the many projects that support and serve our community,” Evelyn Hooten, NHS Sponsor, said.
