Cypress Falls advances to regional semifinal football playoffs

Shannon Vaughns (5) and the Cypress Falls Golden Eagles defeated Bellaire, 42-33, in the area playoffs to advance to the Division I Region III-6A semifinal against North Shore this week.

Nov. 22, 2015—The Cypress Falls High School football team defeated Bellaire High School, 42-33, on Nov. 21 at TDECU Stadium to advance to the Division I Region III-6A semifinal playoff round this week.

The Golden Eagles will face Galena Park North Shore High School on Nov. 27 at 4 p.m. at NRG Stadium in the regional semifinal.

Kaleb O’Bryant (21) and the Cypress Creek Cougars ended their season in a 44-28 loss to Strake Jesuit in the Division II Region III-6A area playoffs on Nov. 20.

Presale tickets will be sold for $6 (students) and $11 (adults) at Cypress Falls High School (9811 Huffmeister Road) from 8 a.m. to noon, Nov. 24-26. All tickets will be sold for $15 apiece at the gate. Parking is $12 per vehicle at NRG Stadium.

In Division II playoff action, the Cypress Ranch Mustangs finished their season with a 59-20 loss to Katy High School at Tully Stadium on Nov. 20. The Mustangs end the year as District 17-6A champions and Region III area finalists.

The Cypress Creek Cougars also ended their year in a 44-28 loss to Strake Jesuit at Strake Jesuit Stadium on Nov. 20. The Cougars end the year as the third-place finisher in District 17-6A and Region III area finalists.
