Five athletes named to Touchdown Club Preseason Team

Cypress Ridge senior wide receiver Kemah Siverand will be recognized as an All-Greater Houston Preseason High School Football player at the Touchdown Club of Houston Touchdowner of the Year Dinner on Aug. 13.

July 28, 2014—Five CFISD football players have been named to the 2014 All-Greater Houston Preseason High School Football Team by the Touchdown Club of Houston.

The 32-member team was selected by a Touchdown Club committee that received input from the Greater Houston Football Coaches Association, media and college recruiting experts. The following CFISD representatives made the team:

  • Zach Kinninger, offensive line, Cypress Ranch High School;
  • Kemah Siverand, wide receiver, Cypress Ridge High School;
  • Ross Donelly, defensive line, Cy-Fair High School;
  • Du'Vonta Lamkin, defensive line, Cypress Falls High School; and
  • Jordon Williams, linebacker, Jersey Village High School.

The athletes will be honored at the Touchdown Club's annual Touchdowner of the Year Dinner, scheduled for Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the JW Marriott Hotel (5150 Westheimer). The 2014 Touchdowner winner is Red Cashion, noted former Southwest Conference and National Football League referee.

"We are extremely proud of the individuals and programs being honored by being named to the All Greater Houston Preseason Team by the Touchdown Club of Houston, said Ed Warken, CFISD director of athletics. "Some of the best high school football in the nation is played in the Greater Houston area, and it is an extreme honor to have five of our athletes recognized in this fashion."

Kinninger is a 6-foot-5, 295-pound senior for the Cypress Ranch Mustangs. His honors include being a Rivals Houston Area selection (2013 and 2014); Rivals National Underclassmen Top 250 Challenge selection (2013); NFTC Camp selection (2014); Old Coach Camp MVP (2014); Second Team All-District 17-5A (2014); and Academic All-District 17-5A (2014).

Siverand, a 6-foot-2, 188-pound senior for the Cypress Ridge Rams, caught 25 passes for 611 yards and 7 touchdowns last season. Siverand was an all-district and academic all-district selection in 2012 and 2013, ranked as a Top 100 Houston and Top 300 USA player and participated in The Opening – a Nike/ESPN national combine in Oregon this season. He is committed to play for Texas A&M University.

Donelly, a 6-foot-2, 300-pound senior for the Cy-Fair Bobcats, recorded 51 tackles – including 10 tackles for loss – as well as four quarterback sacks and one forced fumble as a junior. He was named First Team All-District 17-5A for his efforts.

Lamkin, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound senior for the Cypress Falls Eagles, tallied 71 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 9 sacks and one interception as a junior. He was named Honorable Mention All-District 17-5A, First Team All-Greater Houston Preseason 2014; Dave Campbell's Texas Football First Team All-State 2014; and Rivals Top 100 Texas 2014.

Williams, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound senior captain for the Jersey Village Falcons, made 42 tackles and 2 interceptions as a junior. He was an Honorable Mention All-District and Academic All-District 17-5A pick, and ranks in the top 10 percent of his class.
