Three volleyball teams advance in playoffs

Nov. 4, 2015—Three CFISD volleyball teams won their Region III-6A bi-district playoff games on Nov. 2-3 to advance to the area playoffs this week.

Cypress Falls High School defeated Aldine Nimitz—25-7, 25-13 and 25-4—on Nov. 2 to advance to the area playoffs, where it will meet Katy Taylor High School on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at Don Coleman Coliseum (1050 N. Dairy Ashford Road).

Cy-Fair High School beat Aldine MacArthur—25-11, 25-12 and 25-23—on Nov. 3 to advance to the area playoffs, where it will meet Cinco Ranch High School on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at Coleman Coliseum.

Langham Creek High School defeated Aldine Davis—25-12, 25-9 and 25-15—on Nov. 3 to advance to the area playoffs, where it will face Bellaire High School on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at Coleman Coliseum.

Tickets for all playoff games will be sold at the gate for $5 (students and adults).

The Cypress Ranch High School volleyball team ended its season in a hard-fought, five-game defeat to Memorial High School on Nov. 3, with scores of 21-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-10 and 11-15. The Mustangs finish their season as the fourth-place finishers in District 17-6A Region III-6A bi-district finalists.
